11. The practice of using The Prophetic History to build a church or Movement.

This section is not written to discuss which prophecy was true or partially true or false. I write this to discuss Prophecy that is not in the Bible and how we should approach the practice. I have had many prophecies over my life fulfilled. I believe in Prophecy for TODAY.

Subjective prophecy that is not in the Bible should be weighed differently from Biblical prophecy.  What is in the Bible is not tied to any specific person or group. ALL the Bible’s prophecies will be fulfilled.

All prophecy should be treated with the instructions given for The New Testament Type meetings in I Corinthinans14:29. Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment. Even after the prophecy is judged as “not false” or the source is God, everyone should weigh the timing and the context as they walk with God in the Spirit each day.

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren,

I do not want you to be unaware. I Corinthians 12:1

To the naïve or those “not aware of spirituals,” if a prophecy is from God it will ALWAYS come to pass. Then they commit to The Movement and only later do they find out it was a subjective Word that a person could walk in and fulfill or decide to live in a manner that the prophecy could not be fulfilled.

Our commitment should be to Jesus and His plan for each of our lives. His plan changes and grows, as we walk with God. I am so thankful that God doesn’t give me ALL the details up front – for example in a long Blueprint Prophecy.  God unfolds His desires as I walk with Him through my life. The Holy Spirit knows me and knows God’s plan for me. I am content to walk it out by Faith in the Power of the Spirit.

When IHOPKC first revealed the depth of hidden sins of leadership, I was approached by many of the Worship Leaders and Prayer Missionaries. They all asked me a simple question, “Do you believe in the Prophetic History.” Because there were many asking me the same question, I assume someone in Leadership thought they could manipulate everyone to hold steady.

Mike and others use of the Prophetic History was a cult-like manipulation that is observed in many Christian Cults and cult-like groups. If GOD SAID IT, how can you stand against what God wants? From the Mormons to our present-day groups, God said something special to their group. That Prophetic History molded the group and almost always covers hidden sin in the leadership.

The subject of personal prophecy is addressed in depth by Bill Hamon’s book, Prophets Pitfalls & Principles. The IHOPKC bookstore carried this book when it was open, but IHOPKC leaders did not follow the teachings to any wide extent when it came to IHOPKC Prophetic History.

See #3 – No pastors – Pastors are usually the members of leadership who discern a wrong practice from a true word from God or a distortion of a True Prophecy.

See # 5 – the distortion from Day and Night Prayer to 24/7 prayer in the same building with the same group.
